I love America; I hate America. Being a journalist myself, I\'ve dealt with bureaucracy day in and day out. I must say the U.S. CIS or INS or whatever we call it (it keeps changing. It\'s hard to keep up), is American bureaucracy at its worst. Like many of you, I\'ve waited for the last four-five years in the green card process. In so doing, I\'ve already renewed my EAD twice since my H1-B expired. Now that\'s a bunch of crappola. This country proclaims itself to be a country of justice, not just for some but \"for all\". I\'ve spent so much energy, money and time for the for my community here in the middle of nowhere California. And who do they reward? There\'s no need to say who. I don\'t commit crimes, I pay taxes, and I work virtually for free. I am an UPSTANDING ALIEN! I really hope the U.S. policymakers hear what we, the law-abiding, silent minority who have a lot of talent to offer, have to say. I\'m not discarding others. But historically speaking, we\'ve been put on the backburner in the face of the border crisis. It\'s time for us to get our voice heard.

It\'s time our government took the time to work for those that come here legally with the intent of becoming citizens and contributing to the economy of this country. But no, instead they\'re more concerned about those that came here illegally. All they can talk about is granting another amnesty to millions that have not followed the rules. What a slap in the face to those that did follow the rules.

Please by all means, move to Alberta or any where else, maybe back to your home country. The American people are begging you. Adios.

TIME TO STOP THE \'SANCTUARY CITY & STATE\' LAWS. We have already seen in Los Angeles the cold-blooded murder of Daniel Shaw, because hae couldn\'t answer the filthy criminal gang member question--AN ILLEGAL ALIEN.

Same thing happened in San Francisco, under Liberal-Socialist Governor Newsom, who should held accountable for the heinous slaughter of the three members of Bolgna family. Thousands of law-abiding citizens have become \"ROADKILL\" on the highways and deaths under Sanctuary City & State policies.

Don\'t let your corrupt Politician, Governor, Mayor, elected officials, church or Business opportunists destroying your community, by flooding them with illegal immigrant poverty and criminal aliens.

SIGN JUDICIAL WATCH PETITION, (www.judicialwatch.org) TO RESCIND ALL \'SANCTUARY CITIES & STATES. This is a legal reputable organization

The border with Mexico has to be closed down. If it isn\'t this nation will be doomed(my considered opinion). Any American who actually believes, that the theivery, the murder, the mayhem, the drugs, and the rest of its culture will not affect this nation isn\'t, as one poster above has pointed out, aware of what has resulted in California, the state with the most illegal immigration. 1) it\'s bankrupt,2)drug lords sell and distribute their crap, everywhere in the state,3)hospitals and emergency rooms have closed , about 100 of them, 4)It is almost impossible to get a job as an American if you don\'t speak Spanish, there is widespread discrimination in other words,5)Mexican politicians in California, like the Mayor of L.A. like it that way, it gives him and other latino politicians more power to carry out their ethnic agenda(reconquista). You don\'t have to believe any of this, just check out the facts and you\'ll find all of this going on.

FACT: In the last 22 years, over 26 million illegals, have been apprehended, crossing our Southwest Border.

FACT: Less than 1, out of 4, were estimated to have been apprehended.

Mind boggling, isn\'t it.

and then there are the non-immigrants (illegals) who have overstayed their visas, and remain in our United States (source: Pew Hispanic Center) According to the U.S. Immigration Service six million illegals in this country are visa overstays. That is, they got a visa legally in their home country, they came here to visit and then they never left.

Ihave been working in the Louisiana Health Deparment for 6 and a half years now, in my 7th year. Ihave survived 2 major hurricanes, returned and rebuilt our lives. I am also in my final stage of my green card (I485). Unfortunately for the political lobbyists the potential citizens (those in green card process) do not matter much, or maybe they are more eager to provide amnesty to those who are here illegally. The taxes paid by a legal alien don\'t matter much or rather seem insigficant!!

It is nice to see the post in the news about immigration and people waiting here for their life time to get their GC\'s and settle down in their career. Hope some one is even bothered about people living legally. This government will just make money out of our salary with all sorts of taxes and application fees.(Social service tax which you will not get the benefit until you have a GC and mean while if you leave the country all that money is for the government). They just need you money and services they are not worried about you nor your career.

It is not just problems associated with future financial commitments. It is also a lot to do with family commitments. We need to keep renewing many application which allow to work and maintain status until Greencard is approved. Delays in greencard provals means that asking for lot of money, time and energy of every individual to spend periodically on renewing applications. This gets worst when there are backlogs at USCIS. Worst part is this unpleasent situations affects daily life comitments which require oneself to travel from one country to another.

I hope our decision makers see of plight we are going through inefficient processing system and provide a solution that would allow get our permanent residency at reasonable period. I hope this not too much ask.

I am waiting since 1998 for the Green card. The system broken very badly.

No kidding, thanks to our flawed judicial system an illegal immigrant can run right into California and immediately get complete family medical coverage and free education...a legal immigrant has to wait a few years (if he or she has a priority status), then has to pay for own medical coverage or a sponsor is liable, and then has to wait even longer for green cards or citizenship(sometimes so long they have to leave the country or apply for a special extension while they wait for their new cards)...

I own a house and have been payi ng the taxes for last 12 years. I am also in the finale stage ofmygreen card I485 and hope some pepole really raise voice and get this straightened out as a whole bunch of pepole waiting legaally in line will get frustrated and look at alternatives like Alberta canada. We need to act.

I have been waiting for my green card since 2004.I am 34 and it is high time that I decide if I shall buy a house here and raise my kids here. I am in the last stage of GC process (i485) but even at this stage there is no end in sight. Obviously if I was born in Ethiopia I would have received my GC within a couple of months because of the per country quota limit which is the same irrespective of the number of applicants from a country. I dont know how long I can hold on postponing these very important decisions in my life specially when Alberta Canada seems more welcoming.
