It will become the biggest \"buyer\" of health care (it already is) and as such it will \"drive\" the standardizations of choice until there is only one or two, Medications - generic only, most private practices will have to become Medical mills, or find a new line of business. It happened with Medicare just not on day one.

Not only that, as you also indicated from your comment about seniors, single-payer is what we WANT. There\'s plenty of data that Americans want Health Care for All with single-payer national health insurance. More people are finding out about the deaths (now 22,000 per year under age 65 ... an average of 60 per day) due to no insurance and the additional greater number of the deaths due to preventable diseases, for which the U.S. is doing a poor job. The average American\'s access to health care is so bad and the resulting preventable deaths is so bad that the American Cancer Society isn\'t advertising prevention right now; it\'s entire ad budget is devoted to the need for better access to health care. Then, of course, there\'s the fact that we spend an astonishing 2-3 times (and much higher) PER person here compared to other countries, but ALL the other industrialized countries provide non-profit health care for ALL, and our life expectancy is 28th. Yes, indeed, where is the support from any presidential candidate other than Ralph Nader? Where is the support from the U.S. House and U.S. Senate? WE WANT SUPPORT.
