If this is correct, which I believe it is, the mistrial was caused by deliberate misconduct on the part of the prosecution.
The DA\'s office has become an embarrassment. This case should have never been filed. The Da\'s office is no longer public protectors or public servants; they\'re a pack of bluenosed, self-righteous clowns. It\'s time to clean house at the DA\'s office next election, if not sooner.

Posted by ComicFan on November 06, 2007 Good for Gordon Lee! This case was asinine from the start! The comic in question was not obscene nor pornographic, and charges should never have been brought in the first place. Patterson should drop it and quit wasting our tax dollars on something that has no chance of winning...let\'s concentrate on the Harper-Reynolds murder case instead! |
Posted by magicspoon on November 06, 2007 For how long does the DA need to drag a good man\'s name through the mud? Enough\'s enough. It\'s time for this case to be dropped and Mr. Lee cleared. |
Posted by Marcus Lusk on November 06, 2007 DA Patterson and the prosecution team are a disgrace and embarrassment. This is NOT how our justice system is supposed to work. This thing should never have come to trial in the first place, and Patterson knows it. The history of misconduct and abuses in the case by the prosecutors in Rome is truly stunning. And now they’ve intentionally caused a mistrial, probably because they didn’t like the look of the jury *they* helped select…driving Gordon’s legal fees even higher. Eighty Thousand Dollars in legal fees. Now THERE’S the obscenity.
