CDS telethon results favorable

Despite another difficult economic year, Community Developmental Services
remains hopeful about the results of the 53rd annual Lions Club/Local 6
Telethon of Stars, which was held at the Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center
in downtown Paducah. The 15-hour program of entertainment and interviews
aired live Nov. 14-15 on WPSD Local 6 and raised more than $427,000 for
adults and children with disabilities in a four-state area.

Two charged in felony theft cases
A Ripley, Tenn. man and woman were arrested Nov. 19 on felony theft
warrants from Fulton District Court, following investigations of stolen
electronics from area Wal-Mart stores.

New sign marks Industrial Park

A bigger, brighter sign now serves as the marker for the industrial park on
Highway 307 in Fulton, and as Eddie Crittendon, director of the Fulton Economic
Development Partnership (EDP), said, hopefully it serves as a sign of good things
to come.
The 20-foot-tall lit sign can be easily seen from the Purchase Parkway, which
will eventually be part of I-69.
“We’re trying to market the whole Highway 307 area,” said Crittendon.

Three-month investigation ends in arrests

Fulton Police Department recently conducted a fall drug roundup and served
drug trafficking warrants and other unrelated Circuit and District Court
warrants with the assistance of the Fulton County Detention Center.
The operation, dubbed “Code Blue,” was a result of a three-month
investigation of drug trafficking in the city of Fulton by the Fulton Police
Department.
