James Calvin “Bill” Newman, 78, of Gray, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007. Graveside services were held Thursday, March 15, in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Tommy Jones officiated.

Mr. Newman was born in Bleckley County April 3, 1928. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Odelian and Bessie Mae Newman.

Mr. Newman is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Walter A. and Ruth Newman of Juliette, and sister and brother-in-law, Jimmie and Gary Porter of Danberry, Conn.

Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
