Nettie Ruth Pitts Williams, 81, of Gray, died Monday, March 12, 2007. Services were held Thursday, March 15, at St. Mark Baptist Church, with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Williams was born August 2, 1925, to the late Ed and Lizzie D. Pitts. She was a dietician for the Bibb County Board of Education throughout her career, and a member of St. Mark Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie “Bunk” Williams, Sr.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her son, Willie Williams, Jr.; sisters, Mary E. Braswell and Evelyn Pitts Brown; brother and sister-in-law, Felton and Clara Pitts; aunt, Eula Pitts Morgan; sisters-in-law, Betty Pitts and Annie Williams; grandchildren and spouse, Stacy Williams, Harriet Williams and Ikiea Battle, and Mark Williams; great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces; cousins; and a large extended family.

Collins Funeral Home in Gray had charge of arrangements.
