Editors Note: This was sent to me as an e-mail, and the picture is the one they sent witht the e-mail. Dear People of LaVerkin, I have to drop you a line to tell you how driving through your little town has touched my life. I live in Pasadena, California, and recently I took a road trip to Fort Carson, Colorado. The reason for my trip was to meet the Army plane that was bringing my dear nephew home from a year at war in Iraq. I was feeling mixed emotions. I was so happy that he was alive and on his way home, but I was also feeling bad because of the big war protests on the news. I saw pictures from the protests of very awful signs such as; "We support our troops when they shoot their officers." Trying to understand how some one would proudly carry such a sign was driving me crazy. These things were on my mind when I drove through your beautiful town. Then I saw this sign:

and I realized that those protesters don't represent America. Not MY America. I try not to think about how vandalized your sign would be if it were posted anywhere in Los Angeles. Anyhow, I just had to tell you all how grateful I am to have spent 20 minutes in your town, how proud I am of you for having the courage to fight the ugliness out there. You have helped heal the heart of one Auntie who was wondering where her country went. God Bless you all! -Robin Andersen
