Andrew Lane “Junior” Harris, Jr.
PERRY - Andrew Lane “Junior” Harris, Jr., 83, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008, at Perry Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Interment will be immediately following the service at Perry Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Mr. Harris was born in Crawford County to the late Andrew Lane Harris, Sr. and Thelma Walton Harris. A veteran of the U. S. Army, Mr. Harris was in the 101st Airborne landing on Normandy Beach during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He lived most of his life in Houston County, and was a member of the American Legion. He was also retired from Medusa Cement Corporation.
Survivors include his loving wife, Helen Harris of Perry; his children, Wayne Harris (Sheila), Steve Harris (Karen), and David Harris, all of Perry; his half- brothers, Jimmy Jordan of Warner Robins and Larry Jordan of Macon; his half- sister, Lorene Turner of Centerville; eight grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Lane Harris, III.
