Louis Clyde Collins

PERRY - Louis Clyde Collins, 83, passed away at Perry Hospital on Tuesday, June 10, 2008.

Mr. Collins was the son of the late Sneed and Pearl Noe Collins. He was born in Baxter County, Arkansas. He was a school teacher. He served as a counselor with the State of Georgia Department of Education and with the Department of Corrections. He also served with the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department. He served as Dean of Reinhardt College in Waleska, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was a member of the American Legion, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Perry.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Thomasine D. Collins of Perry, Georgia; his son, Ron Thomas Collins, and his wife, Mary Jo Collins of Longmont, Colorado; his daughter, Deborah, and her husband William Gaskin of Kathleen, Georgia; his sister Aline Wright and her husband Judge Ernie Wright of Harrison, Arkansas; and 3 grandchildren. He will be interred in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baxter, Arkansas at a later date. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
