n KCES MEETINGS – Kings Chapel Elementary School has scheduled the following school council meetings. All meetings will be held at 4 p.m. in room 17B. They are: March 27 and May 29. n INTERNET SAFETY PRESENTATION – Perry Middle School invites the public to a presentation on Internet safety. James Westbrook from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency will discuss the importance of online safety April 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the Perry Middle cafeteria. Westbrook’s presentation will cover ways to protect adults and children online, to include cybercrimes and cyberbullying. Perry Middle School is located at 495 Perry Parkway in Perry. n REBUILDING TOGETHER VOLUNTEERS – Rebuilding Together/Warner Robins needs volunteers to serve as house captains for the annual National Work effort. This year, April 26 will be the date RT/WR swings into action to renovate and repair homes in the area. Donations are welcomed. Checks should be made payable to: Rebuilding Together Warner Robins, and mailed to Rebuilding Together, P.O. Box 8664, Warner Robins GA 31095.

n LEARNING ELECTION BASICS – Working in conjunction with the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Party of Georgia welcomes anyone who is interested in learning basic campaign tools for their neighborhoods and campaigns. It will be held in the Warner Robins Library March 29, from 10:30 a.m.-noon. n ANIMAL RESCUE/VACCINATION DAY/CLINIC – The Third Annual Animal Rescue Day/Vaccination Clinic will be held at Tractor Supply Company, located at 6010 Watson Blvd., March 29. Representatives from several rescue groups and shelters are scheduled to be at the store to adopt out pets, inform the public and to raise money for their rescue efforts. SNACS of Fort Valley Animal Hospital will begin the day at 9 a.m. with a vaccination clinic for dogs and cats. Rabies vaccines will be $8, DHLPP (parvo/distemper for dogs) and FVRCP (distemper for cats) will be $15. Microchipping will also be available. Rescue groups and shelters will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for pet adoptions, fund-raising and sharing information about their organization.

n HOCO DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE MEETING – The Houston County Democratic Committee will meet at Warner Robins Recreation Center, 800 Watson Blvd, at 10:30 a.m. April 12 for its monthly brunch meeting. n DOGWOOD FESTIVAL T-SHIRT SALE – The 20th Annual Dogwood Festival T- shirts are now on sale. T-shirts are available to be purchased at the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce. All T-shirts are $10 each. Sizes available are Small-XXL. The chamber is open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. T-Shirts can be purchased now until April 11 at the Perry Chamber. n PERRY PLAYERS YOUTH WORKSHOP – The Perry Players Youth Theatre Workshop is currently accepting deposits for the summer workshop sessions. Participants will receive two weeks of training in all aspects of performance theatre. The 2008 workshop dates are June 2-13 with performances on June 13 and14 and June 16-27 with performances on June 27 and 28. n KWRB/HAPPY HOUR E-CYCLING DAY – Keep Warner Robins Beautiful and the Houston County Association for Exceptional Citizens (Happy Hour Recycling Service Center) will hold E-Cycling Day March 29 (sorry, no televisions). Bring them to the Happy Hour parking area, located in Warner Robins on North Young Avenue, for a one-day electronics recycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information call 929-7258.

n CHUNK-A-JUNK CAR PROGRAM – The annual Chunk-A-Junk Car program will be held throughout the entire month of April. Warner Robins Wrecker and Towing Service has volunteered services to pick up junk cars in the Warner Robins area at no charge. Persons wishing to have junk cars removed will be required to sign a waiver authorizing removal/disposal of the vehicle. Call 929-7258 to schedule a pickup.

n GREAT AMERICAN CLEAN-UP – The Great American Clean-Up Week in Perry will be held April 7-12 beginning each morning at 7 a.m. and ending each afternoon at 4 p.m. During this week, place all unwanted items at curbside and the City of Perry will pick them up. n VET WELCOME HOME TRIBUTE – Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 902 in Warner Robins will hold a Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Tribute at the Museum of Aviation April 5, from noon to 2 p.m. The ceremony is open to all Vietnam era veterans and their families. Guest speakers include Congressman Jim Marshall, Retired Maj. Gen. Rick Goddard and former POW Retired Brig. Gen. Jim Sehorn.

n HCHS COUNCIL MEETINGS – Houston County High School has set the following School Council meetings. Meetings will be held at 5 p.m. in the school media center. They are: April 28 and June 30. n LIBRARY PHOTO CONTEST – The Houston County Friends of the Library is holding a photo contest. The contest involves taking a picture of your Houston County friends book bag in a place farthest away from the county or is the most unusual place for a book bag to find itself. n QRES SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETINGS –  Quail Run Elementary School has set the following School Council meeting. It will be held at 7:15 a.m. in the data room. It is on April 8. n PERRY AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY – The Perry Area Historical Society meets at 6 p.m., the first Mondays of the months September through May at the New Perry Hotel on Main St. Anyone interested in attending the meetings is welcome and membership is opened to those who share an interest in preserving Perry’s historical sites, artifacts and the personal histories of its people.

n PHS ‘HIGH SCHOOL’ MUSICAL – Perry High School will perform Disney’s High School musical April 10-12 and April 18 and 19. All performances will begin at 7 p.m. in the Perry High School Theatre. n WR REC WATER AEROBICS – The Warner Robins Recreation Department Water Aerobics Program is held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday each week from 9-10 a.m. The monthly cost is as follows: city residents - $28; county residents - $56, out of county residents - $97, Senior citizens 50 years old and up - $15. n HUNTINGTON: ‘I AM AMERICA’ – Huntington Middle School will present, “I Am America” March 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. This event will celebrate cultural diversity with a focus on African American culture and heritage with dancing and singing.
