Warner Robins and all of Middle Georgia have gotten a lot of mileage out of the slogan “Every Day In Middle Georgia Is Air Force Appreciation Day.”
When Dr. Dan Callahan proposed the slogan almost 40 years ago it sounded catchy, as well as sincere, since people living in Houston County, as well as all of Middle Georgia, have more reason than most to really appreciate the Air Force.
Through the years this slogan has become part of the culture of Warner Robins and Middle Georgia. It comes to mind and to the lips as naturally as speaking.
Now the slogan has been updated.
We believe it was a brilliant idea to change the slogan, though not the acronym EDIMGIAFAD. By changing two important words, the slogan has become much more inclusive and appropriate to modern times.
Callahan told the 21st Century Partnership that the old slogan has served us well since it was adopted, but it was time for it to move into the 21st century, too.
So henceforth the slogan will be “Every Day In Middle Georgia Is Armed Forces Appreciation Day.”
It is appropriate because members of other services than the Air Force now operate out of Robins Air Force Base and they are appreciated, too.
So it was out with the old, in with the new, and all of us can continue to say EDIMGIAFAD every chance we get.
