From housing to health care, volunteer opportunities to clubs, the county offers a wealth of programs and services for seniors. HOUSING In addition to the sampling below, the county has a number of assisted-living facilities and retirement and life-care communities. Several new communities for residents age 50 and older have opened in recent years. The moderately priced Waverly Gardens Senior Housing in western Ellicott City has a planned opening in June, and the subsidized Tiber Hudson Senior Housing in Historic Ellicott City will also open this year.
