George Mack Terrell, a resident of Martin, Tenn., died Dec. 24, at the V.A. Medical Center in Durham, N.C. He was 87.
Services were Dec. 28, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, with Elder Maley Davidson officiating. Entombment was in Obion County Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Nichols of Raleigh, N.C.; a son, Timothy M. Terrell of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Mary Catherine Allen of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Crista McCuan of Raleigh, N.C., Alana Gerling of Florida, Stephen Mark Terrell and Taylor Williams, both of Birmingham, Ala.; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae (Wall) Terrell; and his parents, Joe Dallas and Zula O. (McDougle) Terrell.
Born Oct. 29, 1922 in Graves County, he was a member of the Sandy Branch Primitive Baptist Church, and was a retired farmer. He was a United States Army veteran, having served during World War II, where he was a POW in Germany and received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He lived in the Chestnut Glade community all his life.
