Marshall Wright Speed, a resident of Union City, Tenn., died Dec. 26, in Union City. He was 84.
Services were Dec. 28, at White-Ranson Funeral Home Inc., Union City, with burial at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Jim Glasgow and Dr. Howard Ragsdale officiated.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Bobbie Speed of Union City, whom he married Oct. 28, 2001; two sons, Steve Speed and Roger Speed, both of Union City; four grandchildren, Amy Martinek and Shaw Speed, both of Union City, Steven Speed of Memphis, Tenn., and Rodney Speed of Union City; nine great- grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Meadows of Sterling Heights, Mich.; two stepsons, Terry Speed and Ronny Speed, both of Union City; six step- grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Maynard Speed; his parents, Willie and Gertie Mae (Fulcher) Speed; a sister, Mildred McDaniel; and two brothers, Billy Speed and Kenneth Speed.
Born June 19, 1925 in Obion County, Tenn., he was a member of First Baptist Church in Union City, and was the founder/former owner of Cayce Lim Co.
