Russell Moore, a resident of South Fulton, died Dec. 21, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield. He was 84.
Services were Dec. 24, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, with burial in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen I. Crittendon of South Fulton; a son, Carl W. Fortner of Greenbrier, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lula Mae Lane, Virginia McCoy and Frances Fortner, all of Fulton; and a brother, Ardie B. Moore of Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Furn Overby Fortner Moore; his parents, Julia Lena (French) and William Thomas Moore; a son, Joseph Fortner; a grandson; five brothers and three sisters.
Born June 21, 1925 in Obion County, Tenn., he was of the Baptist faith and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. He had been a truck operator for South Fulton Lime and Fertilizer. He had lived in South Fulton and Fulton.
