Betty Jane Williams, a resident of Union City, Tenn., died Nov. 24, at Golden Living Center in Union City. She was 78. Services were Nov. 25, at White-Ranson Funeral Home in Union City, with the Revs. Glen Stewart and Jerry Leggett officiating. Burial was in Clark Cemetery near Fulgham. Survivors include a daughter, Vickie Sadler of Mayfield; three sons, Ronald Williams of Fulton, Robert Lynn Williams of Wingo, and James Williams of Union City; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, David Vaughn of Valdosta, Ga.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Anthony Williams; her husband, R.L. Williams Jr.; her parents, Elmer and Nettie (Harris) Vaughn; and two brothers, Tommy Vaughn and Jackie Vaughn.
Born Nov. 23, 1931 in Caruthersville, Mo., she was a homemaker and a former clerk at Wal-Mart in Fulton. She was a former member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Fulgham, and a member of Union City Second Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart Club, as well as the Pleasant Valley Family and Community Education Club.
