Three-month investigation ends in arrests

Fulton Police Department recently conducted a fall drug roundup and served drug trafficking warrants and other unrelated Circuit and District Court warrants with the assistance of the Fulton County Detention Center.

The operation, dubbed “Code Blue,” was a result of a three-month investigation of drug trafficking in the city of Fulton by the Fulton Police Department.

“The teamwork provided by the Fulton Police officers required much of their time to bring this operation to a end,” said Police Chief Terry Powell. “I am proud of the hard work of the team’s effort. Sergeant James Robert Buckingham was given the assignment and he fulfilled his responsibility and carried out the assignment and professionally directed and utilized the team effort of the police department to make the drug Operation, “Code Blue” a success. However, warning to drug trafficker and users: it’s not over. More criminals are being actively sought who are on the ‘Code Blue’ list.”

Those arrested Nov. 19 include: Egbert D. Tharp, 54 Fulton, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree (crack cocaine), two counts; David Polk, 38, Fulton, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree (crack cocaine), two counts;

Jeffery L. Hendrix, 27, Hickman, arrested in Hickman on Fulton Police Department warrants for trafficking in a control substance (crack cocaine) and trafficking in a controlled substance within a 1000 yards of a school.

Demitri Brown, 29, of Fulton, was arrested Nov. 20 on a drug warrant while in a vehicle that was stopped by Officer Brandon Marbry for a traffic violation. He was was charged with trafficking in a a controlled substance within 1000 yards of a school (marijuana under eight ounces), and lodged in the Fulton County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.

Marcellus Pryor, 54, Fulton, charged with failure to appear to pay fines and costs, circuit court;

Donald Ozell, 38, Fulton, charged with contempt of court;

Lenise Darline Ward, 55, Fulton, charged with contempt of court and failure to appear in court, and second degree burglary.

Each was arrested and taken to the Fulton County Detention Center and lodged with the help of the Fulton County Jailer Ricky Parnell and his employees.

Josh White, 19, South Fulton, was arrested on a Fulton Police Department warrant Nov. 10 by South Fulton Police Department for charges of trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine) and trafficking within 1000 yards of a school zone. He was lodged in the Obion County Jail and is awaiting extradition.
