Two South Fulton men and one Union City man are behind bars, following what Union City Police believed to be suspicious drug activity, at the Obion County Co-op’s bulk fertilizer plant at 800 Mount Zion Rd, Nov. 2.

Cory Lee Hart, of South Fulton, was charged with criminal conspiracy and evading arrest, Gregory Gene Pannell, of South Fulton, was charged with criminal conspiracy and evading arrest, and Steven Ray Vaughn, of Union City, was charged with criminal conspiracy.

Suspicion of cultivating/manufacturing of meth resulted in the arrest of the three men.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., an officer reported a green Oldsmobile Cutlass had stopped in front of 800 Mount Zion Rd., near anhydrous tanks, and two subjects exited the vehicle.

Officer David Jones then pulled into the area of the tanks, and observed Hart and Pannell run from where they had a container and inner tube hose hooked up to an anhydrous tank.

Additional officers were notified of the two males running, in addition to a description of the vehicle from which they exited, and the direction of travel. The vehicle was stopped two blocks away by Obion County Deputy Eric Hendrix. The driver of the vehicle was Vaughn. The other two subjects were caught hiding in a ditch near the anhydrous tanks.

All three subjects were arrested and transported to the Obion County Jail.
