Kennard W. Potts Jr., a resident of Marine City, Mich., died Oct. 28, at Cherryland Nursing and Living Center in Sterling Heights, Mich. He was 84.

Services were Nov. 2 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton with burial in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Hornbeak Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Michael Potts of Center Line, Mich.; one sister, Helen Lager of Cadillac, Mich.; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Potts of Arizona, Carrie Rosenau, of Port Huron, Mich., Jason Potts of Arizona, Brian Potts and Rachel Potts both of Center Line, Mich.; six great-grandchildren, Jorissa Potts and Ethan Potts of Arizona, Alexis Potts, of Yale, Mich., Kaleb and Conner Rosenau all of Port Huron, Mich., and Evan Potts, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Meadows Potts in December, 2006; his parents, Kennard W. and Irene Bonds Potts; and one brother, Danny Potts.

He was born Jan. 11, 1925 in Obion County, Tenn. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired welder for an automotive company. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was formerly from this area.
