Altercation leads to stabbing, arrest

A Fulton man was arrested Sept. 24 and charged second-degree assault after allegedly assaulting a victim with a knife at Marine Oil Co. on West State Line Road in Fulton.

Fulton Police were dispatched to Marine in reference to an argument between parties. Sgt. James Robert Buckingham, along with Chief Terry Powell and Fulton County Deputy Gary Fulcher and South Fulton Police Chief Andy Crocker, responded.

According to a police report, William Lewis Watson, 35, had an altercation with an occupant in a vehicle in the parking lot of Marine. During the argument, Watson produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the leg.

The victim was taken to the Parkway Regional Hospital by the Twin City Ambulance and was treated and later released.

Watson was transported to the Fulton County Detention center and lodged.
