Fulton Independent Board of Education members approved a $.76 per $100 tax rate during their regular board meeting Sept. 8.
The real estate and personal property rate reflects no increase from last year, and is the same as the 1988 rate. Motor vehicle tax rates remain at $.78 per $100.
The state permitted a 4 percent increase in gross receipts for real estate, personal and public service companies; however, Superintendent Dianne Owen said the budget was established using the $.76 rate, and is manageable without having to raise the rate.
There has been a lot of cutting, she said.
