COME TOGETHER – First Christian Church, Pastor Rusty Robinson, gave a new meaning to the term “southern hospitality” when he opened the church doors to nearly 150 people June 21. First Baptist Church, Pastor Jack Acree, was hosting a youth choir from Mosquite, Tex., when everyone was forced to leave First Baptist’s facility, because of the building’s malfunctioning air conditioning unit. Members of First Baptist Church, along with the visiting youth choir, then walked across the street to First Christian Church to carry out service. The churches had recently finished a revival together, according to Elder member of First Christian Church, Kirk Vowell. The service was conducted by First Baptist Church music director Russ Pruiet, while Pastor Rusty Robinson gave the sermon. (Photo submitted) |
