Fulton Police Officers dismantled a meth lab April 5, on Hardy Road in Fulton County. According to tax records, the structure was located on property owned by the William H. Latimer Trust, Union City, Tenn. At about 2:15 p.m., off-duty police officer Johnny Smith received information about the potential meth lab. Officers Smith and Kyle Latta did a preliminary investigation and verified the information tip. Fulton County Sheriff Bobby Hopper was then advised and he requested the assistance of Fulton Police officers in the removal of the lab. The meth lab clean-up response trailer was dispatched to the scene. The lab was located in the upper loft area of an abandoned barn residing in a woodlot on Hardy Road. Meth certified lab technicians, Sgt. J.R. Buckingham and Officer Kyle Latta, dismantled the lab and safely packaged all items. Officers collected evidence that may provide information as to the future identity of the person(s) responsible for the lab. All of the items removed were transported to the Fulton Police Department for processing. The department advises all citizens to use extreme caution when approaching any possible meth lab, as these types of situations can produce risks to a persons life or health. If the public locates a potential lab, they are urged to notify their local law enforcement agency.
