Citizen award nomination sought; Chamber banquet ‘Lost in the 50s’

Nominations are now being sought for the Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year award. The deadline for submission is April 15. The individual will be honored at the Chamber’s annual banquet April 25 at the Pontotoc building, downtown Fulton, as will recognition be given to recipients of awards for Business of the Year, Industry of the Year, and Community Service. The theme for the banquet will be “Lost in the 50s,” to correspond with this year’s future opening of a time capsule, buried on Lake Street in downtown Fulton, according to Thea Reams, the Chamber’s Executive Director. Tickets will go on sale soon according to Reams, for $20 per person, and will include a meal, auction participation, and live entertainment. Tickets may also be reserved by calling the Chamber office at 731-479-7029, or by email at twincitieschamber@bellsouth.net. To nominate a Twin Cities resident for Citizen of the Year, submit a letter explaining why the nominee deserves the award, and mail to: Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 5077, South Fulton, Tenn. 38257.

When nominations are made the following criteria should be considered: • Nominees must live in the Twin Cities and his/her activities should be centered in the Twin Cities. • Recognition will be given for leadership and performance for work done above and beyond his/her paid profession. • The individual recognized is not required to be a member of the Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce. • There are no requirements or restrictions relating to gender, race, religion, or ethnic background.

• The nominee should have participated in a broad scope of activities over the course of more than one year. • This is not an award for a single activity no matter how well it was executed. • The award will not be given posthumously. For more information, contact the Chamber office.
