Area voter registration deadline is October 6

Area residents not registered to vote must do so by Oct. 6, in order to be eligible to vote in the Nov. 4 General Election. Registrations with a postmark of Oct. 6 will be processed, according to the Obion County Election Office, at 308 Bill Burnett Circle, Union City, Tenn. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information, Obion County residents may call 731-885-1901. Fulton County Clerk Betty Abernathy noted Fulton County voters must also register by Oct. 6 to vote in the Nov. 4 election. The Fulton County Clerk’s Office is open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the address is 2216 Myron Cory Dr., Hickman. Inquiries by mail may be made to P.O. Box 126, Hickman. The telephone number is 270-236-2727. Abernathy also reminded voters Absentee Voting will begin in her office Oct. 17 through Nov. 3. Voters who have moved since the last time they voted may change their address or send a note with their home, new address and signature, to the appropriate election office.

Those will be 18 on or before Election Day, Nov. 4, may register to vote.
