New Members Ron Higgins, Wa-Hi Assistant Principal Sponsor: Karen Wolf Ron is grew up in Montana before becoming a math teacher at Wa-Hi. Now in his 18th year at Wa-Hi, Higgins accepted an Assistant Principal position this year. Ron loves doing yardwork, exercising and working on computers. He is married with two school-aged children.

Chris Drake, WW College Assistant Marketing Director Sponsor: Kathy Small Chris was born in Zimbabwe. He attended Walla Walla College where he graduated in 2001. Chris said it has been one of his lifelong goals to work with a service club. He said he’s anxious to help the Exchange Club.

Program Overview WW Housing Authority - Renee Rooker, SPHM For 31 years the Walla Walla Housing Authority has touched the lives of many families and individuals as it strives to address safe, decent, affordable housing needs of the community. Walla Walla Housing Authority Executive Director Renee Rooker provided an overview of the agency’s programs. Now in her 12th year as leader of the WW Housing Authority, Rooker said more than 800 families receive services per month in Walla Walla. The Walla Walla Housing Authority recently completed a strategic three-year business plan. Rooker said families with children, families with special needs and elderly families are the primary recipients of services. She said the agency continues to face long waiting lists for services. Home Team - Home Team board and staff are developing the protocol for volunteer recruitment, screening, training and support. The Home Team crew will be looking to the Exchange Club for volunteers as well as to help recruit. Call 529-2130 for more information.

Future Programs Wa-Hi Culminating Project • Oct. 6 Wa-Hi Assistant Principal Mira Gobel will discuss The Blue Print for Tomorrow culminating project. This state requirement will showcase the student’s high school experience.
