Program Review Investigate South Africa - Marleen Ramsey, WWCC Walla Walla Community College and Walla Walla College Professor Marleen Ramsey discussed her experiences of traveling to South Africa. She explained the injustices she learned of following a half century of Apartheid racial segregation policies in South Africa. She noted how people were classified by the color of their skin and forced to live in established living areas for each race. She spent much her time in South Africa interviewing people to gain a better understanding of the conditions and history of South Africa. Marleen is currently working on her Ph.D in Leadership at Gonzaga University. She was born in Seoul, Korea but has spent the past 45 years in the Pacific Northwest. She was named a distinguished educator in 1996 and in 1999 was named a member of “Who’s Who Among America’s Educators. She is a published author and has created two videos on assessment.
