Program Review Walla Walla Streets & Utilities - Hal Thomas & Ivan Lang City Public Works Director Hal Thomas and assistant Ivan Lang provided an overview of the city’s public works operations. Thomas, a former Naval officer who served two tours in Vietnam and one in Bosnia, said the city is seeking community involvement to help address its streets and utilities challenges.

He said he is proud of city efforts to ensure clean water for residents and its environmentally sound sewer treatment plant. Thomas said city streets are of concern, as are other utilities functions. He said a major renovation of the Main Street water system will be conducted next summer. City officials are working with business owners to limit disruptions to their establishments.
