Program Review Wa-Hi School Improvement Plan - Brian Pendleton, Principal Student centered teaching strategies is one of several areas in need of improvement at Walla Walla High School, according to a report from new Principal Brian Pendleton. Pendleton said the improvement process begins with the formulation of beliefs and development of the school’s mission statement. “If we don’t know where we are going we certainly won’t find out how to get there,” Pendleton said. “Improved instruction and accountability will affect student performance and implementation of best practices will directly enhance student learning.” We must bring about frequent honest and accurate teacher evaluations to improve teacher performance. The time has arrived to raise the bar on teacher performance. We are prepared to explore smaller, innovative learning communities, integrated curricula and a shift from teacher centered to student centered learning. Pendleton said he loves Walla Walla and is excited to bring positive change to Wa-Hi.
