Program Review City of Walla Walla - Duane Cole, City Manager “Walla Walla is in the midst of change,” City Manager Duane Cole told Exchange Club members Monday afternoon. Although Walla Walla is a safe community with a balanced economy, strong downtown, abundant recreational opportunities, and a diverse population, Cole said the city is facing significant challenges. He cited roads, parks, a youth swimming facility and the completion of the Mill Creek Sports complex as issues of concern. He reminded club members that all of these challenges will cost money and it will take a community effort to make them happen. Cole said he hopes to form a committee with key officials from various entities to chart a strategic plan for shaping Walla Walla’s future.
