Program Review “Volunteerism” Gretchen Hormel-Tomkins Exchange Club member Gretchen Hormel-Tomkins of Children’s Home Society encouraged club members to volunteer for Make a Difference Day, Saturday, October 26. Make A Difference Day is the largest national day dedicated to helping others. This year V-Plus, a group of dedicated individuals working to enhance volunteerism in the Walla Walla Valley, will act as a clearinghouse for Make a Difference Week, Sunday, October 20 through Saturday, October 26. Churches, schools, businesses and service groups wishing to contribute to the care and well being of the valley through community service use this resource.
V-Plus will help recruit volunteers by advertising projects and will acknowledge local projects contributing to the national effort to Make a Difference. Gretchen congratulated club members for volunteering more than 10,000 hours since last year’s Make a Difference Day.
