New Members • Dorita Tessier (Introduced by Cindy Williams - Walla Walla College) Dorita will soon replace Cindy Williams at Walla Walla College. She most recently lived in Denver, CO where she worked for a private academy. She enjoys cooking, traveling and scrapbooking.

• Brynn Hart (Introduced by Ed George) Brynn works for GM Medical Sales. She is new to the area and hopes to get to know the community better. She is excited about volunteering and making friends. She enjoys swimming, hiking and reading.

Program Review “National Public Radio” Robin Rilette Northwest Public Radio (NWPR) Music Director and on air talent Robin Rilette provided an overview of public broadcasting. With a 500 mile footprint from Grangeville, ID to Port Angeles, WA, NWPR provides unique news and music services to its northwest listeners.

Northwest Public Radio boasts 12 affiliate stations, including 89.1 FM and 89.7 FM in our region. Rilette said she is most proud of the thoughtful and well balanced programing NWPR has to offer. She said NWPR is best known for its news services, but also offers terrific classical and jazz musical programming.

Northwest Public Radio relies on private donations for its funding. Rilette said NWPR generates funds from biannual campaigns which are essential to NWPR. NWPR features online services and streaming audio at www.nwpr.org.

Club Announcements

City Golf Tournament • Tom Baffney (Reese, Baffney, Schrag & Frol) announced he is seeking volunteers and players for the annual City Golf Tournament.

Baffney said the August 17 and 18 tournament is facing a “make it or break it year.” Declining players over the past couple of years are threatening the tournament. Cost is $50 for Country Club and Veteran’s Memorial season pass holders and $70 for all others. Sign up sheets were distributed for the various volunteer positions.

Fair Volunteer Opportunities • Sign-up sheets are now being distributed for the Walla Walla Fair. Numerous volunteers are needed to staff the Exchange Club booth. This is an outstanding fund raiser for the club and a lot of fun!

Greeters Needed • Sloan Kimball (Baker Boyer Bank) reminded members to volunteer to be greeters.

Future Programs July 29 - Meeting • Gretchen Hormel-Tompkins will introduce a nationally renowned speaker to discuss volunteerism.

August 5 - Meeting • Learn more about WorkSource Walla Walla, an important program in our community.
