Program
Sloan Kimball led the way for the 5th Annual Ducky Derby kickoff. Chairwoman Kathy Covey was out of town. Sloan introduced the central committee that has been working nearly weekly for four months (Kathy, Sloan, Sheri Hodge, Linda Emmerson, Jay Broughton, Tracy Shrouf, Robert VanDorn, Terry Nix, Dale Elmenhurst).

Jeffrey Townsend gave us a sneak peak of the TV spot-you won’t believe it is actually a local ad!

Sheri Hodge introduced our sponsors and prizes. In addition to the sponsors listed above, member sponsors included Paul Schneidmiller of World Wide Travel, Lenel (and Dewey) Parish of the Zip Zone, Rick Doyle of the Walla Walla Union Bulletin, Sloan Kimball of Baker Boyer Bank, Rich Egan of Martin’s Jewlers and Gary Hanson of Abajain Motor Sales. New sponsors are the Painter’s Cottage and Valley Beverage. Returning sponsors not already mentioned are Charter Cable, Albertson’s, CellularOne, Koncrete Industries & Konen Rock Products, Hot Poop, Wild Horse Casino, The Homestead Restaurant and Stone Creek Furniture.

Once again the top prize is a 2002 Toyota Tacoma 4X2 Pickup or $10,000 cash co-sponsored by Abajain Motor Sales and the Exchange Club. Second Prize is $5,000 worth of furniture co-sponsored by Stone Creek Furniture and the Exchange Club. And third prize is the trip for two to a Utah Jazz Basketball game co-sponsored by Coca-Cola Bottling Company and World Wide Travel.

Coordinator of Club Sales Gene Adams introduced the Team Captains (Lesa Sweeney, David Seymour, John Lackie, Jack Pinza, George Elmenhurst and Matt Mahan). Team Mahan has an early lead with more than $2,000 in sales already! Member Lloyd has provided nothing but moral support-Matt is carrying the load!
