The Nevada Parks and Recreation Department will be participating in the 10th annual Earth Day Groceries Project. The students from Bryan, Benton, Nevada Middle School, St. Mary’s, Calvary Christian, Primary Learning Place Preschool, The Lollipop Tree Preschool, Bright Beginnings Preschool, Small World Preschool and Broome Preschool will be decorating paper grocery bags with environmental messages. On Earth Day, April 22, these bags will be used when you purchase groceries at Ramey’s Village Market and Woods Supermarket. Besides carrying an environmental message, each bag will also feature artwork aimed at sending the people of Nevada a clear and positive messages that participating area students care about their environment. Contact Robin McHugh, Nevada parks department recreation and aquatics coordinator, at (417) 448-2740 for more information on this project.
