"Terri's Law" Struck Down

The law that kept Terri Schiavo's husband from removing her feeding tube has been ruled unconstitutional by The Florida Supreme Court. Schiavo is the brain-damaged woman who has been on life support since 1990.

Her husband, Michael Schiavo, has said his wife would not want to be dept alive that way. Her parents disagree.

Lower courts had ruled the feeding tube removed, but the Florida legislature passed "Terri's Law" to overrule the courts. In its unanimous decision, the Florida Supreme Court said the law violated the separation of powers.
