A careful review of the platforms of both major political parties shows God is mentioned four times by Republicans and seven times by Democrats.

The Republican document says freedom is "The Almighty's gift to every man woman and child." It also says, "May God bless Ronald Reagan" and criticizes federal judges for banning "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Democratic platform calls America "one nation, under God" and twice calls the environment a gift from God and says it should be protected as a heritage for "God's Children."
