The DVD version of Mel Gibson's "The Passion Of The Christ" sold nearly 2.5 million copies by midday when it went on sale Tuesday.

The movie was one of this year's biggest flicks in the theatre. It earned a place among the top ten highest grossing movies of all time with more than $370 million at the North American box office.
