A Christian fraternity is suing University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. The fraternity was denied official recognition by the school because it won't sign on to its non-discrimination policy.
Alpha Iota Omega objects to the policy's requirement that membership be open to all, regardless of religion or sexual orientation. The group wants to choose members who have similar religious beliefs.
The president of Alpha Iota Omega says the organization's foundation is based on "upholding the great commission of Jesus Christ."
The university notes that out of hundreds of student organizations, 42 of them religious, Alpha Iota Omega is the only one that refuses to sign the non-discrimination policy.
