Michael Newdow took one last shot at getting the U.S. Supreme Court to ban the Pledge Of Allegiance from the classroom. The court said no.
Newdow is the dad who doesn't want his 10-year-old daughter reciting the pledge because of the words "under God." He asked the High Court to consider overturning its ruling from June that said he couldn't legally represent his daughter because he doesn't have full custody of the girl.
Newdow, an atheist, told the justices that he has spent six years fighting to keep his daughter from being told at school "that her father's religious beliefs are wrong." And he said his custody fight with the girl's mother shouldn't affect his right to persue the case.
The court rejected that appeal.
