Counting The Cost Of Charley In SC

Hurricane Charley cost hotels on the Grand Strand $30 million in revenue. More than 150,000 people left the beach August 13 when Governor Mark Sanford issued the evacuation order. Some hotels didn't reopen until August 15. Physical damage is estimated at $2.5 million in Georgetown and Horry counties, mostly to hotels.
