Court Says "No" To Pennsylvania Patriotism

Pennsylvania can't require students to recite the Pledge of Allegiance or sing The National Anthem every day. A federal appeals court says so. The three judges ruled the practice violates the free-speech of students. The appeals court agreed with a judge's ruling in 2003 that students' rights were violated because the law required that their parents be notified if they didn't participate.
