| | Historic "Yard Decoration" At State Museum | | 08/13/04 Email this story to a friend A Revolutionary War-era cannon that decorated the yard of a home in Irmo for over 20 years is now a museum piece. It's on display at the State Museum in Columbia. The cannon was found on Edisto Island in the 1950's by a couple of brothers, one of whom brought it to Irmo. Evidence suggests the cannon was used to fend off the British during The War Of 1812. | | |
