| | Alan Keyes May Be Back | | 08/05/04 Email this story to a friend He has run for president twice. This time Republicans in Illinois are asking Alan Keyes to run for the U.S. Senate as a candidate from their state. Keyes would have to move. He lives in Maryland.
If he goes for it, Keyes will face rising Democratic star Barack Obama. That would set up the first U.S. Senate race with two black candidates representing the major parties.
Keyes has been a favorite among many conservative Christians for his opposition to abortion, homosexual rights and affirmative action. | | |
