There are questions about the reliability of your child's school bus. The South Carolina Education Department will get $12 million less this year to buy and fix school buses. Some of the buses are more than 20 years old and have more than 175,000 miles on them. Education Superintendent Inez Tenenbaum says if the state keeps spending less getting children to school, eventually more buses will break down. The Education Department got $18 million last year to replace buses.
