SIKESTON Laura Estelle Schwendemann and Robert Joseph Kavaliauskas were united in marriage Nov. 17, 2007, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston. The Rev. Scott Sunnenberg performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Ann Schwendemann of Portageville and the late Robert Schwendemann. She is the granddaughter of the late Stella and Herman Hulshof and Clara and Anthony Schwendemann. Parents of the bridegroom are Violeta Kavaliauskas of New Fairfield, Conn., and Robert Kavaliauskas of Cooper City, Fla. He is the grandson of Eleonora Matulevicius of Worcester, Mass., and the late Joseph Matulevicius and Charles and Stella Covolesky. Vocalists Katie Bradley and Mimi Rankin of Sikeston were accompanied by organist Terry Parker of Charleston and guitarist Wanda Rankin of Sikeston. Vannesa Schwendemann of Jackson, sister-in-law of the bride, was lector for the ceremony. Servers were Gavin OBrien and Mary Liz Klueppel of Sikeston. The bride was escorted by her brother, Sean Schwendemann of Potosi. Carrie Renaud of Charleston attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Christine Spurlock of Sikeston, Darlene Jobe of Chaffee, sisters of the bride; and Tiea Wasielewski of Forristell, cousin of the bride. The flower girls was Marianne Renaud of Charleston, niece of the bride. She was escorted by Payton Spurlock of Sikeston, nephew of the bride. Honorary flower girls were Julia Spurlock of Sikeston, Jessica Jobe of Chaffee, Hannah Schwendemann of Potosi and Emma Schwendemann of Jackson, all nieces of the bride. Tomas Kavaliauskas of New Fairfield, Conn., attended his brother as best man. Groomsmen included Kris Hartman of Perryville, friend of the bridegroom; Michael Schwendemann of Jackson, brother of the bride; Kevin Renaud of Charleston, brother-in-law of the bride. Ushers were Phillip Schwendemann and Kevin Schwendemann of Portageville, brothers of the bride; and Joshua Schwendemann of Chaffee, nephew of the bride. Guest book attendants were Hailey Bedell and Molly Uthoff of Sikeston, and program attendant was Andrew Jobe of Chaffee, nephew of the bride. A reception was held at the Elks Lodge in Sikeston. Cake servers were Liz Bradley and Ann Marie Bloemer of Sikeston. Guests were served a buffet-style dinner followed by a dance with music provided by Dave Thomure of New Madrid. A rehearsal dinner hosted by the bridegrooms parents was given the evening of Nov. 16 at Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau. Following a honeymoon to Walt Disney World, the new Mr. and Mrs. Kavaliauskas are making their home in Sikeston.
