Planning begins for celebration 03/30/08 Email this story to a friend SIKESTON — The city of Sikeston will mark a big birthday in a couple of years, so officials are already gearing up with celebration plans. “The City of Sikeston turns 150 in 2010,” Mayor Mike Marshall said in a news release. “And we want to make this a yearlong celebration to be remembered.” Planning will kick off with an organization meeting at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Clinton Building. The public is invited to attend.
