BENTON - A Morley woman is in jail on drug-related charges.
Melba Jean Hays, 17, is charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance and one count of distributing not more than 5 grams of marijuana.
According to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, Hays sold the controlled substance to a reserve deputy sheriff during an undercover sting operation led by Detective Branden Caid and Deputy Roy Moore.
Sheriff Rick Walter stated that more drug arrests are planned later this month. Hays remains in the Scott County Jail on $50,000 bond.
