The Murray Case Sells Swim Complex opened Saturday. Summer operating hours are Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. for lap and recreational swim. Adult lap swim is Monday through Friday from 6 to 8:30 a.m. and noon to 1 p.m.

Swim lesson sessions last for 10 days. The first session begins on June 3 to June 14. The second session is from June 17 to 28, the third session is July 8 to19, and the fourth session is July 22 to Aug. 2. A “thunder session” for extending swimming skills is held on Aug. 5 to 9. Fees for swim classes are $30 per person for a full session and $20 for the “thunder session”.

The first session is filling up fast and there is limited availability, pool employee Julie Mehler said. She suggests starting enrollment two weeks in advance to ensure a place in the class of your choice.

For ages 12 and up there is an American Red Cross Water Safety Aide Class offered. The date for this course is May 18 from 2 to 6 p.m. The fee is $25 and volunteer aides completing this course may assist with swimming lessons.

The pool also offers adult and senior water fitness courses. The courses are offered at 10:30 a.m. indoors and 12:00 p.m. outdoors. Mehler said the cost is $25 for everyone and classes are held three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

William T. Jones, an aqua aerobics class member, raves about the classes. “Everything’s excellent,” said Jones. For more information about the OU Pool and the summer programs call 325-4837.
