Area arts camps offer programs ranging from a few hours a day to multi-week, overnight sessions. Here, kids get creative at Parsons Center for the Arts in Merchantville.
Help your children build lifelong skills, creativity and self-confidence at an arts camp this summer. Below are some of SJ’s many options. (Several offer scholarships and financial aid, so be sure to ask.) For camps that focus primarily on theater arts, see the story below.

>Concert on censorship to headline annual summit
A free, all-star concert about freedom of expression is the centerpiece of this year’s Business/Arts Summit. Also planned: multiple SJ and national speakers, exhibits and more.
This year’s arts summit will feature a new twist: a free concert – and an unusual one, at that.

The 8th annual Business/Arts Summit will present “Freedom Sings,” a multi-media performance about the history of music censorship in America.

“It drives home the importance of artistic expression, while being immensely entertaining” says Audrey Muse, executive director of the summit’s host, the Arts and Business Partnership of Southern NJ.

Aspiring actors can hone their craft at theater camps. Some programs also teach dance, music, and behind-the-scenes skills. Here, kids perform at the Ritz Theatre Co.’s camp.
