WHAT IF MY GROUP ALREADY HAS A WEB SITE?
There are several reasons why you may still want to use NatureCoastCentral.com's myCommunity web sites:
Affiliation with NatureCoastCentral.com, the Nature Coast's most popular web site, means more exposure for your group. Simply create a new site promoting your group's existing web site address/url--see SIMPLE FORMATTING CODES at the end of the FAQs. (e.g., click on "Friends of Rainbow Springs" link under "Choose Group".) OR build a completely new site here.
Many members of your group can publish information, not just the one or two who know HTML. It gives your site more flexibility and functionality.
MY GROUP HAS A SITE ON NatureCoastCentral.com's myCommunity BUT WE DIDNT CREATE IT. WHATS UP?
Your group may have been one of the original sites that the Citrus County Chronicle online staff designed and maintained during the late 1990's. All of this information has be re-posted in the new myCommunity web sites format. If you'd like to update the site or take it over, please e-mail webadmin@chronicleonline.com and we will transfer control of the site to your group.
HOW ARE THE myCommunity WEB SITES MONITORED?
NatureCoastCentral.com is not responsible for information posted on partner web sites or monitoring their activities. NatureCoastCentral.com reserves the right to edit or remove any web site without notice. If you find offensive information on a partner site, please notify the us via e-mail at webadmin@chronicleonline.com and we will take appropriate action.
ARE THEIR TERMS OF AGREEMENT?
Yes. A copy of the "Terms of Agreement" is made reference to all throughout this section of the web site. Please click on the "Terms of Agreement" link and read. Note that by creating a web site for your non-profit organization/group, you are implying agreement to the terms noted.
CAN I GET MY OWN DOMAIN NAME?
Yes, but not within the myCommunity web sites area. If you build a web site in this area, you are assigned an arbitrary web site address (long and too arduous to promote). If you are interested in having your own web site address/url (e.g., www.yourgroup.org), you can purchase one through NatureCoastCentral.com. For details on options for non-profits, contact us at nccsales@chronicleonline.com.
I'M THE GROUP'S "WEBMASTER" AND I'M HAVING PROBLEMS ENTERING INFORMATION. WHY?
The myCommunity web site software works best with Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher or Netscape 4.7 or higher. If you have an earlier version, we strongly encourage you to visit the Microsoft or Netscape web sites to download/upgrade your browser to a more current one.
On many occasions, no matter what you do, the myCommunity web site software will NOT work with any Netscape project. There is conflicting programming language between the two.
WHY ISN'T MY PHOTO OR GRAPHIC SHOWING UP?
Images uploaded to your pages must be in GIF or JPEG format and must be less than 30k in file size. This reduces the amount of time it takes for your pages to download. As well, you may not see your graphic right after you finish uploading all the information. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the graphic to register on our servers. Wait a little while and check your site again. The graphics should then appear.
SIMPLE FORMATTING CODES
Add these to your text to enhance the appearance. Note that most (but not all) codes require a tag to turn "on" formatting and a tag to turn it "off". Enclose each tag in angle brackets. It doesn't matter whether or not you capitalize the codes.
